Who Are You Wearing?
It’s the time of year when celebrities are walking red carpets and vying for entertainment awards. A prevalent question for attendees on the red carpet is, “Who are you wearing?” This is a great question for Christians to ask ourselves every morning—not because we are into haute couture—but because we are called to reflect Christ in everything we say and do.
Think about your usual morning routine. Does it begin with God and prayer or Bible study? Or, is it a chaotic mad dash for the door? If the latter is true, challenge yourself to wake up five minutes earlier than usual this week. Take that five minutes to begin the day with God in prayer, asking how you can wear Christ and represent Christ in all you say and do. You may even picture yourself putting on some characteristic of Jesus each day, or wear a physical reminder (such as a bracelet, necklace, or pocket cross) throughout the day. Spend some time reading and meditating on Ephesians 6:10-18. Later, in prayer or through journaling, reflect on how you did each day, or at the end of the week.
